The Yarra Valley is well renowned for its wineries and scenic landscape, it also offers some exhilarating and fun local activities.

These are a great way of occupying some free-time during your program or why not include one or two to make the event more memorable.

Guided Bush Walk to a neighbouring vineyard

A 50 minute stroll through the beautiful bush land on a guided walk from the centre to Sutherland Estate Vineyard. You will be greeted by the friendly staff who will introduce a variety of superb Sutherland Wines. A selection of local cheeses can also be arranged at an extra cost. After sampling the local delights you will then be transported by bus back to the centre.

Lawn Bowls

After something a bit different? On arrival the group is given an introductory to the game by a well-versed club member, rules/aims etc. After a short practice period, teams are formed and the "friendly competition" then begins. A very team oriented sport that requires plenty of thought and concentration.

Winery Tours

Includes transport on our own YVCC bus seating up to 22 passengers (larger groups easily catered for), wine tasting at the wineries visited and a cheese platter at one of the wineries.

Popular wineries visited are: Yering Station, Domain Chandon, De Bortoli, Shantell Vineyard, Sutherland or St. Huberts Vineyard. A half day tour includes 4 wineries.

Horse Riding & Trail Rides

Experience guided trail rides through the beautiful scenic Valley bushland.

1 - 1 ½ hour rides, 20 minutes from the centre.

Golf at a nearby Private Courses

Yering Meadows Golf Club

This private, recently constructed, Ross Watson designed 27-hole championship course is available to delegates and their guests seven days a week, approximately 15 minutes from the centre. Team oriented games can also be played sharing clubs, this eliminates the need for individuals to bring clubs. Club hire and accessories available. (By appointment, Excluding Wednesdays)

RACV Country Club, Healsville

The Private 18-hole VGA registered golf course is available to delegates and their guests seven days a week, approximately 20 minutes from the centre. Team oriented games can also be played sharing clubs, this eliminates the need for individuals to bring clubs. Club hire and accessories available. (By appointment, Conditions apply)

Hot Air Balloon Flights

When staying at the Yarra Valley Conference Centre why not take the opportunity to book a group flight on an amazing ballooning experience. Let the breeze usher you along the corridors of grape vines and over the Yarra River as you take in the breathtaking view of the mountains that surround the Yarra Valley.
